Role of the Commissioner Designate

The Commissioner Designate will use victims’ experiences of the criminal justice system in Northern Ireland to improve services for victims.

The Commissioner will work closely with victims, their families and support agencies to record their experiences. This will be used as evidence to provide advice to government on changes that are needed for a better victim centred criminal justice system.

The Commissioner wants to hear from all victims about their experience of crime and how they were treated by the agencies they came into contact with.
